Vikas is a registered Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work (MSW). He has been a member in good standing with the OCSWSSW for 15 years. He is also a member of OASW.
Apart from his MSW, he holds a certificate in Canadian Social Work Practices from Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University) and a certificate in Mental Health Case Management from George Brown College. He also hold a postgraduate diploma in Health Management and Interventions.
Vikas has rich experience including working for the United Nations Project, Government, Policy, and Academics. He has extensive experience working for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). This provides him the ability to better understand your struggles and challenges and bring concepts from psychological, sociological, and systemic perspectives in addition to concepts from psychotherapy and counselling.

We offer different modalities suited to working with individuals and couples. All the modalities used are evidence based. We only work with people 16 years and older.
Every individual is unique and the same issue may present differently with different individuals. Hence, the intervention has to be tailored to your own unique needs. Vikas is experienced in numerous evidence based modalities. Whether to use a particular modality or to use eclectic model, can be mutually decided during the sessions. Vikas believes in providing culturally sensitive, person centered, recovery oriented, and trauma informed services.

Yes! While our services are covered by most extended health coverage plans/benefit plans, we highly encourage you to contact your insurance provider to ensure that they cover services of registered social workers.
We do not need referrals from doctors, other health professionals, or your insurance provider nor do we need your health card or other documents. However, if you have medical records such as doctors note, discharge summary, or information about prescription medications, that will be helpful.

Yes! We can provide services in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Urdu.
Yes we do! Direct billing is available for most insurances, meaning you don't pay out of pocket for anything covered under your plan! Some providers don't allow direct billing, in which case we can provide you with a receipt that you can use to get yourself reimbursed by your insurance provider.
We offer both! We try to provide services that would meet your needs - be it in person, over the phone, or through video. You can whatever modality works for you or even any combination.
